LIVE SOUND METER / ABOUT
About Live Sound Meter
A free browser tool for noticing sound patterns and comparing changes in your surroundings.
An independent project
Live Sound Meter is an independently developed website built around a simple task: make everyday sound easier to explore. No account, subscription or payment is required.
Measure, compare and keep context
Start the meter to view a live estimate, minimum, energy average, maximum and a short history. Advanced options include microphone selection, reference alignment and a frequency view. You can save a report or CSV with your own notes.
Microphone processing and report generation happen in your browser. Raw audio is never recorded or uploaded by the meter.
Useful context, honest limits
A phone or laptop is not a calibrated sound level meter. Device sensitivity and audio processing can make absolute readings substantially wrong. We explain the assumed offset, publish the method and offer alignment to a trusted reference instrument. The tool works best when the same setup is used to compare changes.
Free access and advertising
The tool is free to use. We may display advertising through Google AdSense to support the website. Advertising data practices are separate from microphone processing and are explained in our privacy policy.
